INDIAN WINES VALLONNÉ VINEYARDS ADDED TO WAITROSE UK PORTFOLIO

Increasing demand for online sales proves to be an opportune time to diversify the range of wines offered. Waitrose has added premium Indian wines to its portfolio with Vallonné’s Anokhee Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, now listed exclusively on Waitrose wines, priced at £19.99. Located near the waters of Mukhne Lake by the Western Ghats, Vallonné has been making wines since 2009 from French varietals and blends that have been gaining recognition over the last few years, winning major international wine awards.

“The dedicated team at Vallonné has crafted superior wines year after year. Our Anokhee Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, being listed with Waitrose, is indeed a proud achievement for all of us because it proves, yet again, that we make wines that match up to some of the best from the world over”, says Shailendra Pai, Founder and CEO of Vallonné vineyards.

The wine is available at Waitrose exclusively on www.waitrosecellar.com

“Happy and proud to see our Anokhee listed at Waitrose. It will give the elite supermarket’s discerning wine consumer, a taste of the high quality of Indian wines and also an idea of the potential that the terroir of Igatpuri /Nashik has”, according to  the Winemaker, Sanket Gawand. He has worked hard to build the incredibly diverse portfolio over the last few years.

Director Aditi Pai, Director also added “The Vallonné Anokhee Cabernet Sauvignon is the only premium Indian wine at Waitrose and this selection is a validation, yet again, that our wines enjoy — not just critical appreciation — but also commercial acceptance. It’s indeed a proud moment for us all at Vallonné since we have, over the past 12 years, been dedicated to our philosophy of crafting high quality wines.”
